This guitar belonged to Walter Giardino, the Argentinian guitarist, founder and leader of Rata Blanca, considered one of the most influential musicians in Spanish-language heavy metal. It was used in the recording and tour of the album Rata Blanca VII, leaving its mark on a key period in the band’s history.
The Les Paul Standard has undergone several changes since its creation in 1952. In the 1970s, the most significant changes included three-piece maple necks with scrolls, two-piece mahogany bodies joined in a «pancake» style, and three-piece maple tops.
This 1978 model is an excellent example of that era. Among its features are Seymour Duncan ’59 pickups in the bridge and JB pickups in the neck.
It has a Nashville-style bridge with a chrome finish, along with a matching tailpiece and Gotoh locking tuners, providing greater stability.
Today, this guitar is treasured at La Roca Power Studio.
