The Veillette Gryphon 12 is a 12-string electro-acoustic guitar with a unique short scale. It is tuned to high D (10 frets above standard tuning), producing six pairs of strings in unison with a bright, mandolin-like tone, while maintaining the fingering of a conventional guitar. It features a pommele sapele body and a Sitka spruce top with two sound holes on the sides, a mahogany neck, and an ebony fingerboard and bridge. The bridge houses a Fishman Matrix piezo pickup underneath, and volume and tone controls are located on one of the sound holes.
