Magnatone Custom 440 (1967)

The Magnatone Custom 440 (also known as the Mercury Custom 440) is a vintage tube combo guitar amplifier manufactured in the United States by Estey Electronics between 1961 and 1963. It is highly sought after by collectors due to its classic tone and its integrated effects circuit (vibrato and reverb) activated by a footswitch. With its two 6V6 power tubes, it delivers between 18 and 20 watts, ideal for studios or small gigs. It features a single 12-inch speaker, originally an Oxford brand. It has two independent channels with separate normal and high-gain inputs.

Used by Billy F. Gibbons for recording sessions and live shows in Buenos Aires.
