As part of a limited series of 150 units, Gibson, in collaboration with Murphy Lab, released this SG model, meticulously recreating the specifications of the guitar used by Jimi Hendrix during his performance on The Dick Cavett Show in September 1969.
Its construction features a one-piece mahogany body and neck, with an ebony fretboard adorned with purfling and mother-of-pearl block inlays. The electronics include three gold-finished ’68 Custom Humbucker pickups, while the hardware maintains the vintage aesthetic with Kluson Waffle Back tuners, an ABR-1 bridge, and a Maestro Vibrola tailpiece.
This guitar combines Gibson’s heritage with Hendrix’s legacy, making it a collector’s item that pays homage to one of the most iconic moments in rock history.
