Andres Gimenez’s Gibson Explorer (1983)

This guitar was part of the personal collection of Andrés Giménez, leader of D-MENTE, and was used during his time with the band.

Unlike the classic Explorers and Futuras built with mahogany or korina, this 1983 model features an alder body and maple neck, with a rosewood fretboard, giving it a distinctive sound.

Equipped with a pair of high-gain Dirty Fingers ceramic pickups (designed by Tim Shaw in the 1970s) it delivers an aggressive and powerful tone. It also features Sperzel locking tuners, a Nashville-style Tune-O-Matic bridge, a chrome Stop Bar tailpiece, and classic speed knobs.

As a unique detail, this guitar is signed by Def Leppard, which reinforces its historical and collectible value.

Currently, the guitar is treasured at La Roca Power Studio.
