The Fender Precision Bass is, without a doubt, the most iconic and popular electric bass of all time. Created by Leo Fender in 1951, this model revolutionized the music industry by offering musicians a compact and precise alternative to the bulky acoustic double basses of the time, forever transforming the dynamics of live performances and recordings.
This late 1970s example represents the culmination of that legacy. It features an alder body and a one-piece maple neck with the traditional skunk stripe on the back. Its distinctive, punchy tone comes from a high-gain split-coil pickup, easily controlled by a volume and tone potentiometer. The instrument is completed with the classic high-mass bridge with single-slot saddles and chrome Fender Clover tuners, typical of the CBS era.
