This exceptional Gretsch Billy Bo comes from the personal collection of Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top.
The Gretsch Billy Bo is a model based on a 1959 design (originally called the Jupiter Thunderbird), which wasn’t produced until 2005, when Billy Gibbons (owner of the ’59 prototype, a gift from Bo Didly) decided to reissue the model under the name BILLY-BO.
This particular example, built in 2013, doesn’t have a serial number, as it belonged to Billy’s personal collection. He used it in shows and tours with ZZ Top from 2015 to 2018. It features Filtertron pickups, Grover Sta-Tite tuners, and a custom pinstripe paint job.
Signed by Billy Gibbons.
This guitar is treasured at La Roca Power Studio.
